The Robotnik Wars Guideline: How to RP here!

I will try to cover as much as I can here to help everyone understand the rules and code for our RP World so you can jump right in without feeling like you don't know what's going on!

 

So first, the setting: There are two eras to Role Play in. The Peace Era is a time in the Great Forest without war or conflict. There is no Robotnik. It is just Mobians living life. This is a place for you to RP with less restrictions based on the setting and your character's actions. here you can simply RP about anything you want, as long as it is kept in the Great Forest mobian setting.

The Conflict Era is the main Role Play zone, this is where your characters will battle it out, live and survive, make friendships and bitter enemies, even find love. Here you create characters for two factions. The Freedom Fighters are the good guys, naturally. You are fighting as a Freedom Fighter to protect your home Knothole from Robotnik's clutches, as well as fighting to thwart his schemes and destroy his factories and various plants to try to stop him once and for all. There is no end to the war in sight. The Legion are the bad guys. Your characters that join here are generally evil or just not the "good guy" kind. They fight for Robotnik, whether because they are unhappily forced or because it's for selfish reasons or revenge or anything really, here you will try to capture the Freedom Fighters, find out where they are hiding, stop them from attacking, and carry out any other scheme to screw with them as much as you can.

Aside from the war, your characters will find themselves socializing, or getting into any number of other events unrelated to a mission or battle. More on that below.

 

The next bit of info is about the Freedom Fighters section and the Robotnik's Legion section of the RP zones:

In order to Role Play, you must create or join a topic(if it is labeled "Join" or "Ask to Join") in one of the various sub-forums belonging to your character's faction. In example, if you are playing with a Freedom Fighter, you will create or join a topic in a Freedom Fighter sub-forum of your choosing. Same goes for Robotnik's Legion.

Now on to what these sub-forums are exactly. With the old system and RP World layout, you would simply create a topic in a "Location" sub-forum and role play in wherever that location is. Now however, you instead must figure out what your topic is going to be about and choose a sub-Forum that fits your topic's activitiy. OR, you can simply pick a sub-forum activity and create a new topic based on the sub-forum itself. For example, you could enter the "Embark on a Mission" sub-forum under the Freedom Fighters section and create a new topic about going on a mission. The mission itself is up to you, you decide what the mission is, or what your character is doing for your faction to fight the enemy. In example you could create a Patrol post there, or create a post about an infilitration mission, or one about stealing equipment or resources from inside Robotropolis. Anything you can think of that fits the theme!

As the forum goes on, more activity forums will be created to broaden the list of things you can make topics about. For now however, if you wish to create a topic unrelated to the activity sub-forums, you may simply post it in the Other sub-Forum or "Free Time" sub-forum.

Free Time is there for your characters to participate in topics outside of missions and the like. Or in between missions. Other is for topics you want that don't fit anything else. In example if I wished to create a topic about going swimming in the Great Forest River I could put it there, or in Free Time.

The primary focus should be the conflict, so most of the topics should be in Embark on a Mission.

 

Information about the locations in the world:

For now, your characters will Role Play in one of three main locations.

-The Great Forest

-Knothole(Freedom Fighter Exclusive)

-Robotropolis

There are a lot of sub-locations in these three areas that are from the SatAM television show such as "The Great Forest River" or "Ring Lake" etc. If you need help with locations, the early comics might also give you a good idea of what the old-school Great Forest, Knothole, and Robotropolis were like.

The Great Forest is generally a giant forest. There are rivers, tall hills, caves, swamps, abandoned ancient ruins, lakes, etc.

Knothole is a simple 3rd world village made of natural resources. There is little to no technology available except what Rotor invents. Light bulbs are barely a thing here. There are a lot of huts where your own Freedom Fighters live, and bigger hut-like buildings such as Freedom HQ, the Cafeteria to eat, and the Infirmary to fix yourself up.

Robotropolis is a massive city covered in dirt, chrome, cement, gravel, and pollution. It's dark, it's dangerous for Freedom Fighters. Swatbots and spybots patrol everywhere. If you are in the Legion you can explore and patrol the city any time. Various locations within the city include sewers, factories, power plants, Skyscrapers(Robotnik's HQ is a big skyscraper), dungeons(To hold prisoners), the motel, which is where you live, and so on.

 

So a few rules about Role Playing itself:

-be respectful

-Do not god mod

-take a punch. There's nothing wrong with blows landing. Don't dodge everything thrown at you.

-Do NOT kill

-Take prisoners and capture only when permission is granted

-Be active, try to reply to anything you are RPing in at least once every other day. Don't make others wait too long.

-Don't force others to carry you. When you RP, try not to let it get one sided. Participate, make things happen!

-No sex unless it is story driven and emotional. If Rape must happen, keep it vague. No sex posts may be too detailed, this RP world isn't about sex, it's about characters and conflict. (Sex RP may be unfiltered and as raw as you want in the Peace Era section or The City section)

-Only join if the topic is *open* or if you get permission to join an *Ask to Join* topic, and only join if you know how you can add to the plot/topic with your character.

-Don't let it get personal. No drama here, just RP. It's all stories guys.

-Cursing is allowed, nudity and sex is allowed, just try to keep it PG-13, like what you see on cable.

-Do not make world changing events occur. No killing Robotnik or anything like that. Do not "secure a powerful weapon" for the Freedom Fighters to use or anything like that either please. Also as the Legion, do not find Knothole.

 

Suggestions on creating new role play topics:

Head to the RP ideas and Partner pairing section in OOC and create a new topic talking about what you have in mind and inviting others to participate. Or, you can PM others with ideas or you can just create a new topic in the Freedom Fighters/Legion sections and then post in the RP ideas advertising your new topic. If no one joins the topic you made, some folks are just shy or unsure if they want to participate. If this happens, invite others via PM or RP ideas!
