RP Promotional image idea

Hey forum peeps.  

 

I realize I don't spend much time around these parts, for that I do apologize, but I just want ya to know I haven't forgotten about ya!  

 

So I had this mad idea I wanted to run past ya'll, I think may help bring in some fresh faces to the RP and the forums in general.

 

If any can remember, a few months ago Blitscreet was kind enough to commission me for a series of sketches featuring some of your original characters in the RP. I haven't actually done any new ones for awhile, but I have been wanting to get back into doing those for you guyz, because they were a lot of fun to do and were a nice change of pace from what I usually do. ^^ Kai was next up from what I remember, so hopefully I can get to doing more of those for ya'll really soon, but that's only half the idea I wanted to pitch to you guyz right now. 

 

Looking over those sketches I've done so far, it got me thinking that it would be really awesome to maybe create a full color mash up image with some of the characters you guyz have created. Kinda like those images you see for fighting game promotional art featuring the cast of characters.

Always wanted to try some of these, they look like a lot of fun and they certainly do well with promoting their stuff. But they are pretty hefty projects, a lot goes into them, so as much as I'd love to create one with some of the characters featured here, I unfortunately can't do something like dat for free. That's where you guyz come in.

 

Not sure entirely on the details yet on how I'd wanna do it, but if you guyz were interested in something like that, then I'd be game for figuring something out for ya'll.

 

I was thinkin something around 7-10 characters max and I'd do it at a discounted rate, then members interested could pitch in what ever they were able to towards making it happen and getting their character featured in the image.

 

Benefits would be getting some new traffic to the forums, cause images like that do pretty well at getting noticed, and would maybe bring in some fresh faces. Also, you'd get to see your character mashed up in some sweet promotional style art. And if it did well enough, then maybe we could make it a sort of regular thing.

 

I'd really like to do it cause I love that sorta art, just don't get many oppurtunities to do it. xD

Anywho, let me know what ya think of that idea peeps. If it brews enough interest, then I'll come up with a price guide for it and all that details jazz.

I am SO for this I think this idea is perfect seeing how we haven't done much roleplaying (or I haven't done much roleplaying) and I can already see a certain character of mine in that poster. One question through how much would it cost?

Well that's what I would have to figure out. At my normal rates with 10 characters, full color with a decent background, it'd be around $500 in total.

 

But ya, I would do a discounted rate, somewhere around $350 total, but yesh, it'd be a bunch of you pitching in, so I'd need to figure out how I'd wanna run that. Was thinking a donation pool kinda thing, where I set an end goal, and peeps can pledge to it maybe. With a max of 10 characters, means more then 10 could pledge, but only 10 get a character slot though. So would have to maybe set a minimum donation for getting your character in the image or something like that.  

 

Something I'd have to figure out with ya'll, but I think it's doable.

Yes, would only be for original characters. It would be promotional art for the forums RP world and I'd rather feature the characters that you guyz have created. It is a Sonic world RP yes, but I think it would just be confusing to include canon characters, in something that's not canon or officially tied to Sega or Archie in any way.

Well I know that I'm definitely pitching in to have my character in there, maybe both my twins just because doesnt seem right to have one without the other, but don't wanna do so until I know everyone else who wants in the pic has a spot

I'll jump in, new job, means I can finally get a pic from Sallyhot But yeah, I'll jump in with one of my chars, hell, I might let the others vote which of my chars go in for fun. But I'd also like to learn of a final price as well if possible.

Just so ya'll know, it wouldn't be a right away kinda thing either, got a lot of other stuff workin on at the moment, so if money is tight for everybody now, just know you got plenty of time to ponder it before I'd even be able to start. Thinking it'll be a late October, Early November kinda project.   

 

I'm thinking 10 characters max, total $350, so $35 a character slot probably how I'd do it, keeps it simple.

 

To put that into some context, $35 is what I'd usually charge for just a single character sketch. xD

Unfortunately Blits is right, only original characters allowed for the poster I'm afraid. >.< 

 

But if you don't have any original characters, perhaps now you'll have a great reason to create one. I could even design it for you in the poster. Won't be starting on this until around end of October, so you got plenty of time to get creative.
